Mirror of Truth & Wisdom

After the discussion with Citrus about Lothair’s role in TIP, I realized something that I should have recognized a long time ago : that each of the heir’s role in probably isn’t all that clear to everyone and what efforts I have made towards explaining isn’t enough. Well, this is indeed a mistake too easily made given that the one who designed a setting knows almost everything about it and thus thinks so and so should be obvious with just a few pointers - the sign of an amateur writer, in assuming the audience can understand some easily when… they don’t.

Just to prove I’m every bit as inexperienced as every fanfic writer out there… except I don’t write fanfics, self-insertion is definitely not allowed ( and in case you’re wondering, I started using the name Zanaikin after I created Aoric, because it was the first original character I made and the first original name I created ).

TIP Random Thoughts

Well, been busy writing about everything else that I haven’t had time to note on a few changes. However, how that I’ve finally finished the mainpoints of the Penthiae Arc (minus a bit of detail that still needs patching up) and Aorin’s Path, I can get on to making … well we’ll start with general details.

I’m also currently working on writing up a Caerleon/Penthiae History and a Penthiae Campaign Setting summary so my co-devs will understand the world involved better.

Progress Update Mar.27

Mar.23 has gone and past, and I’ve been too lazy, too busy, and simply involved in other stuff to really document the progress we’ve accomplished thus far. But, here it is, simply four days late.

Namae wo Yonde

So after spending my time doing all the curriculum related work for which I should have done over Spring Break, while being lazy on my limited spare time (I did beat Silent Storm, heil panzerkleins!). However, I really need to get back onto my designing role, and the first boulder to knock out of the way is the names.

I’m seriously tired of having nothing to call the last Imperium Heir by except ‘last char’.

Character Sketches

Hooray! Honya has finished the character sketches for the Imperium Heirs, well the female ones at least (trust him to draw all the girls first). However I must say I am quite impressed by their drawings. They were far better than what I had hoped for.

Well, allow me the moment to comment on them.

Character Design Update Feb.18

No significant progress has been made since the last draft. However, ideas are being formulated and processed. The three covered here are: uniform design, Sofiya’s field abilities, and symbolism regarding the Zanaikins.

(first sketch done for the project!)

Character Draft v0.7

This will be my first character draft written specifically for The Imperium Project game. I noticed recently that all existing designs I had were based upon my fiction’s draft and thus the character descriptions are founded upon events spanning months if not years into the future within the storyline. Several of these characters may not even exist for the purposes of this game as they originate from a ‘future’ arc. Obvious, this doesn’t fit into the current scenario and certain not meeting the objective. Therefore, the character description sheet will be rewritten to be based upon circumstantial information at the beginning of The Imperium Project.

Essentials of Character Design

I had started writing a post on my current character designs in The Imperium Project, then suddenly sensed that I was missing something in my whole scheme on designing chars and plot. Thus I return to ask myself, what are the necessities of a well-rounded and compelling character that would draw in interest and sympathy from the audience?
