In another universe, on another Earth, during another century, the Earth was ravaged by a Third World War. It was a war started by the decline of democracy and capitalism, leading to rampant government corruption and uncontrolled corporate globalization. It was a world where independence often became an empty title in the face of economic and cultural assimilation; where alliances were formed as world powers struggled for either dominance or sovereignty; where five years of total war sparked between two great alliances - the United Nations Directorate (UND) and the Federation of Independent States (FIS), tearing Earth apart and leaving entire nations devastated in its wake. It was only five years later that an apocalyptic incident finally made them realize the futility of their struggle and lay down arms for a half-baked peace proposal, leaving the world hanging in balance by a thread.

It was during this time when a group of Federation officials, knowing that the fragile peace is nothing but an extended cease-fire, formulated their own plans to guide mankind out of the cycle of destruction and into a new age. The group, later referred as the ‘Overseers’, was founded by Federation Steel Legion Field Marshal Diedrich Celkosen, Federation Director of Biosciences Research Ye ZheFeng, and Grand Master of the Arcanum Order Alarick Staufen. Their goal was the Utopian dream of the human race: to build a near flawless system of social administration for the next age of human civilization. The plan utilized a monarchy of virtually absolute power, centered around an enlightened ruler of near perfection and assisted by an impeccable combination of advisers and officials. It was a dream originating from before Plato’s Philosopher Kings and exemplified by the Arthurian Legends, brought into reality by blessings of modern science and esoteric mysteries of the universe.

Unwilling to practice experimental genetic engineering and arcane modifications on others, the Overseers chose to bear the sin themselves and forced all their goals onto their own children. One Scion and seven Guardians made up this first group of eight Imperium Heirs, whom were born and raised to become the next pillar of human civilization. Their purpose was to win the upcoming war with the military backing of the Federation Steel Legion, and establish an Utopian society to bring peace amongst mankind for eternity.

Yet before the seeds of the project could mature, an unexpected coup d’etat triggered the beginning of a Fourth World War. The Overseers sacrificed their lives to pave a living path for their descendants and lifelong hopes. The Heirs, many of whom still in late teens, managed to survive, only to be hurled into the chaos of a cruel and unforgiving world.

The Imperium Project is the story of eight young men and women whom would utilize their limited resources to gather the remnants of mankind and unify them under an empire that shall last through the ages.
